4:57pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Aliso Viejo, California, USA, Friday afternoon, March 31, 2023. Came back to Orange County and checked my home mailbox. My renewed driver license/real Id was there. That made me happy for a number of reasons: 1. I have a valid license again 2. I got the Real ID taken care of so I can use it to fly in the future and 3. Personal mail arrived at the home address which saves me a trip to the post office to verify. Now I am sitting on the couch with the dog and contemplating a run to the store with my daughter.
