10:26pm, mountain standard time, condo in Evanston, Wyoming, USA, Sunday night, April 30, 2023. Made a trip down to Salt Lake City this afternoon. Bought shoes and a nice jacket. Came back through Park City. Ate at the same restaurant we shared a last meal with my brother seven years to the day. Tomorrow I fly back to California via Denver.

9:46pm, mountain standard time, condo in Evanston, Wyoming, USA, Saturday night, April 29, 2023. Picked up my niece this afternoon and headed to west Wendover, Nevada. After some gambling we drove back to Salt Lake and had dinner and beers at a Scottish themed bar downtown. Mom and I just arrived back home. It was a long day, but very fun. Good way to spend a Saturday.

8:18pm, mountain standard time, condo in Evanston, Wyoming, Friday night, April 28, 2023. Traveled from Palm Springs to Salt Lake City via Las Vegas. Arrived at 3:30pm, luggage did not make the flight. Drove to Centerville, shopped at the local store, then headed back to Salt Lake for dinner at the brew pub in Sugar House. Just got to Evanston and going to turn in soon. Tomorrow we will pick up my bag, meet my niece and drive to Wendover, Nevada. Update: just received call from the airline while I was writing this post. My bag is coming from Dallas and will arrive in Salt Lake tonight at 10:30pm. We will get it on our way through town tomorrow.

6:52pm, pacific standard time, hotel in Palm Desert, California, USA, Thursday evening, April 27, 2023. Finished up work for the day. Tomorrow I fly out of Palm Springs, catch a connecting flight in Las Vegas then continue on to Salt Lake City. I will get there around 3:30pm. I am going to spend the weekend with my mom and my niece. We plan to get dinner tomorrow night then head to Wendover, Nevada Saturday morning. Otherwise, we are keeping our options open. Who knows what adventure might await? Best to keep things simple and see how the weekend unfolds.

6:41pm, pacific standard time, hotel in Palm Desert, California, USA, Wednesday evening, April 26, 2023. The admission that took all afternoon yesterday lasted into the night. And through this morning. It was an unfortunate situation exacerbated by poor decision making by one of my staff members. I ended up spending the morning doing service recovery. Luckily, a different nurse went out this morning and did a good job correcting all the mistakes before her. I am glad things worked out. Now I feel exhausted. The adrenaline must be wearing off.

6:52pm, pacific standard time, hotel in Palm Desert, California, USA, Tuesday evening, April 25, 2023. Had a headache all day that I couldn’t shake. Desperate for relief, I took allergy medication with a sleep aide. I ended up resting for three hours between scheduled meetings. After that I spent the entire afternoon working on an admission. I feel a little better now. Hopefully, I am not getting sick.

6:09pm, pacific standard time, hotel in Palm Desert, California, USA, Monday evening, April 24, 2023. Talked with my supervisor this afternoon. Starting in May, I will split my duties between Palm Desert and Bakersfield. I don’t mind, in fact, I feel rejuvenated. It is time for a new challenge and a change of scenery. I will still support the Palm Desert branch until a new director is hired. I just won’t physically be here every week.

3:54pm, pacific standard time, mall in Mission Viejo, California, USA, Sunday afternoon, April 23, 2023. Went to the same movie for the third weekend in a row. My daughter likes it and she wanted to bring a friend this time. I didn’t mind. It is a good movie in the specialty theater. More like a ride than a movie. The girls didn’t want to go home afterwards and I wanted to visit a store in the mall so we will hang out here for an hour then head back.

4:59pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA, Saturday afternoon, April 22, 2023. Walked, worked out, got my car serviced this morning. Went to Aliso Viejo, grabbed donuts with my daughter, walked the dog. Came back to Dana Point and continued unpacking from the move. all in all a good Saturday.

3:10pm, pacific standard time, coffee shop, Laguna Niguel, California, USA, Friday afternoon, April 22, 2023. Received a call from my supervisor on the drive home. There is a strong candidate for the Palm Desert Director position. I hope this one pans out. I have been there six months. I need to move on. She mentioned Bakersfield will be open soon and I might end up there. I don’t care. I am just happy there is finally a possibility for change.
