February 29, 2024, leap day, Thursday night, 8:16pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Drove to Victorville for two meetings this afternoon then turned around and came home. I have been feeling anxious all week. My new boss is not very responsive to text or emails. That makes me feel uncertain. Not sure how to improve communication. I am glad another month is almost over. I vowed to stick out the year and I will honor that commitment.

February 27-28, Tuesday, Wednesday, 7:46am, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. I came back to Dana point last night after spending the day in Victorville with my new boss. The meeting was alright. It wasn’t my meeting but it still felt like operations was the focal point. Unfortunately, Victorville is probably the worst branch for him to visit first. I was embarrassed by the lack of professionalism. On the plus side I completed an interview for a director that went extremely well. She is what the branch needs to get corrected. I will send her on to the next round of interviews and hopefully make an offer soon. This week we have parent/teacher conferences for my daughter. She gets out early so I will pick her up at 1pm and then attend virtual conferences later in the day.

February 26, 2024, Monday night, hotel room in Victorville, California,USA. Worked out at planet fitness this morning then took my daughter to school. I drove up to Victorville this afternoon. Tomorrow I meet with my new boss and the regional VP of marketing before heading home late afternoon. My daughter has parent teacher conferences and early dismissal from school this week. I am going to pick her up Wednesday afternoon because her mom has work obligations.

February 25, 2024, Sunday night, 11:48pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Did the Blue Lantern walk first thing this morning followed by an hour on the treadmill and a workout at Plane Fitness. Them I can home and did laundry. After taking my daughter to subway for lunch I took the dog for a walk past the sports fields and middle school in Aliso Viejo. I came home and took a nap in the afternoon. At 5pm I went back out to get gas for my company car. My daughter called while I was driving so I picked her up to get food from i20 Ramen. At the end of the night I came home and talked with my friend on the phone for an hour as she drove home.

February 23-24, Friday, Saturday night, 7:21pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Had a date last night so wasn’t able to post. We went to the Blue Dolphin in Dana Point. Not really our style. More a pool hall than restaurant/bar. Today started late. I took my daughter to get Starbucks at 1pm, then worked out at planet fitness late afternoon. This evening my daughter and I grabbed pizza for dinner from the dominoes in laguna niguel then I came home to watch diners, drive ins and dives.

February 22, 2024, Thursday evening, 6:27pm, pacific standard time, hotel room in Victorville, California,USA. I stayed an extra day in Victorville but didn’t go to the office. By the time I finished answering emails and got off a late morning call I decided to just stay remote. In the afternoon I went grocery shopping, walked around the mall and explored local neighborhoods in my car. Now I am watching a Hallmark mystery and relaxing after eating a Panera sandwich. Today is the three year anniversary of starting my job in Phoenix.

February 20-21, Wednesday night, 7:13, pacific standard time, hotel room in Victorville, California,USA. Went out with a friend for my birthday last night. We had a good time. She brought me a card, some cupcakes and handmade chocolate decorations. We went to dinner just up the road at the Olive Garden. Afterwards , we came back to the hotel and hung out for a while. This morning i got up a little later, worked out and had my executive coaching session. When it was over I drove to a palm Desert to help the branch because the administrator is on leave. At 4:30pm I left and drove back to Victorville. I am feeling tiered bit relaxed.

February 29, 2024, Monday night, Presidents’ Day, 6:33pm, pacific standard time, hotel room in Victorville, California, USA. Met with my new boss this afternoon via video chat. It went well. We talked for a half hour and will get together again once he is through orientation. I actually had talked with him two years ago for an executive director position with a different company. I am excited. I like his energy and style more. We will get along well. That being said I have a lot of anxiety built up. I have felt that way for a couple of days. Hopefully it abates soon. The wind is blowing outside my hotel room and the heater is working hard. It is a rare winters day in California.

February 18, 2024, Sunday night, 8:04pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Went to Riptide restaurant with my daughter and her mom for a Teppanyaki and Sushi dinner to celebrate my birthday. My daughter was having some issues with an online friend so she wasn’t in the best mood. But we still had fun. I am tired from going out both Friday and Saturday night. I need to get a good nights rest and start the week fresh.

February 17, 2024, Saturday evening, 6:22pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Did my first “triple quad” today. The triple quad is three walks and a work out. First is walking up blue lantern, then a hour on the treadmill, followed by a workout and finally walking my daughters dog in Aliso Viejo. I actually got a late start and did them in reverse order. As a result I got to see the sunset on my final walk. Now I am going to shower and drive to Fullerton to meet up with a friend.
