October 31,2024, Thursday night, 9:59pm,pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA,Halloween. They picked up the company car today. It made me a little sad to see it go. I enjoyed having it, especially when the gas and all the maintenance was paid for. at least now I can completely move on and focus on the future. This evening we went to my daughters boyfriends house in Ladera Ranch to eat pizza and celebrate the holiday. We had a good time. Halloween is always a fun day with lots of good memories.

October 29, 30, 2024, Tuesday, Wednesday afternoon, 1:58pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. The trip to Mesquite was good. I enjoyed not driving all the way from Wyoming to California in one day. I was peeved a little the Casino charged me a resort fee on top of the Priceline charge (which already had a resort fee) but it was only $9 so I can’t complain too much. I left Mesquite at 7am yesterday and stopped in Vegas to workout. The gym was nice but the neighborhood didn’t feel 100% safe. After Vegas I stopped at Whisky Pete’s in Primm and Alien Fresh Jerky in Baker. My last stop was a gas station in Barstow. I got back to Orange County around 3:30pm. I waited around Laguna Hills and picked my daughter up from school at 5pm and took her home before dropping her off at the Kaleidoscope to see a movie with her boyfriend and his family. Today I had an interview for the job in Torrance. It went fine but they are replacing someone who hasn’t been fired yet. That makes me feel unethical. There is no loyalty or longevity in these positions. The hiring manager is someone I know from my first job in Orange County, back in 2012. All the people I interviewed with two years ago for this company are long gone. So are the ones I started with at my previous company. I need to find something with more stability. I am tired of constant upheaval.

October 28, 2024, Monday evening, 6:56pm, pacific standard time, Casablanca Resort, Mesquite, Nevada, USA, room 6055. This morning I packed up and left mom’s around 8:15am. I went through Weber Canyon and stopped in Bountiful to work out at Planet Fitness. Afterwards, I drove to Nephi, Beaver and Cedar City before getting to Mesquite at 3:30pm. I drove around a little before checking into the hotel. My plan I was to go down to the casino and gamble at little but, I am feeling tired and my room is a long way from the elevator. Maybe tomorrow I will have more energy.

October 27, 2024, Sunday evening, 6:10pm, mountain standard time, mom’s condo in Evanston, Wyoming, USA. Drove to South Ogden again this morning to work out. When I got back I showered and got ready to go to Little America outside Green River, Wyoming for breakfast. We ate at the little diner off paper plates. It wasn’t the fanciest or best breakfast but a fun trip nonetheless. This afternoon I visited my uncle for a bit before going to Walmart with mom. We had pizza for dinner and watched some football. I am going to turn in early tonight then drive to Mesquite, Nevada tomorrow.

October 25,26, 2024, Friday, Saturday, evening, 5:32pm, mountain standard time, mom’s condo, Evanston, Wyoming, USA. Yesterday I went for the walk past Broken Circle. Afterwards, we headed to Salt Lake City and met up with my niece to drive to West Wendover, Nevada. My niece won over $500 on a slot machine so it was a good trip. When we got back to Salt Lake City we stopped by Piper Down for a couple Guinness’. This morning I drove to South Ogden to workout at Planet Fitness, then mom and I went over financial stuff to make sure everything was in order. This afternoon we drove through Ogden Canyon and grabbed a pizza from The Pie Pizza before heading home. On the way back we stopped by Holy Family Catholic Church to see the Stain Glass window from the Trappist Monastery. Now we are in Evanston eating pizza and going to watch the World Series, game 2, between the Dodgers and the Yankees.

October 24, 2024, Thursday night, 6:57pm, mountain standard time, mom’s house in Evanston, Wyoming, USA. This afternoon we drive up through the Uinta Mountains and had lunch in Park City at the Red Rock brewery. This evening we went to Murdocks. Mom bought cat food and I got a face mask for the walk tomorrow morning. Then we got some beer and other things at the Discount liquor store next door. Now we are hanging out, watching Ghost Ship on AMC.

October 22-23, Tuesday, Wednesday evening, 6:37pm, mountain standard time, mom’s house, Evanston, Wyoming, USA. Yesterday I went for the walk in Chandler then drove to the old office in Phoenix before heading to Wyoming. I drove through Flagstaff , got gas at the Circle K, drove to Page, got gas at the Maverik and finally stopped in Fillmore, Utah where I got gas at Bonus Fuel. I got to Evanston at 10pm, had a glass of wine with mom then went to sleep. This morning I walked for an hour past the house I grew up in, then had a call with a recruiter this morning. After that mom and I drove to Salt Lake City, ate lunch at Zupas, stopped by the State Liquor store, REI, Costco and Mister Car Wash. We came home through Centerville and drove by the old house. When we got back to Wyoming we grabbed Wendy’s for dinner. Mom went up to her room just now. I am drinking Guinness and watching The Office. It has been a good trip so far.

October 21, 2024, Monday night, 7:43pm, pacific standard time, Home2Suites, Gilbert,Arizona, USA. Room 207. Got up at 4am this morning to finish packing and tidy up the house. Then I headed to the gym. I got there at about 4:49am. The power was out and it didn’t look like it was opening soon so I drove to the off off El Toro in Lake Forest and worked out there. After that I walked the dog to the park and took my daughter to school. On my way out of town I stopped by the office park off Oak Canyon in Irvine, changed clothes then headed out. I stopped for groceries in Palm Desert but they didn’t have the chips I wanted. Finally, I got to Chandler at 4pm. There were no rooms available where I usually stay so I am on Gilbert tonight. It is nice. I showered then headed to The Thirsty Lion for a beer and a California roll. Now I am back in my room watching the second half of the Cardinals game. Tomorrow I will go for my Chandler walk then have a call with a recruiter at 9am. After that I will head to Nevada, up through Utah and get to Wyoming by evening.

October 20, 2024, Sunday night, 6:55pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Since I left Arizona in March of last year I have envisioned a specific scenario to soothe my Sunday Anxiety. In my fantasy I work as a PRN Hospice Chaplain in Phoenix. On Monday mornings I take my daughter to school then head straight to Arizona. I work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and come back Friday afternoon. Occasionally, I would stay for a weekend like I did three years ago. I even mapped out subtle nuances to make the dream more vivid. I have my company car, my executive paycheck, and my old apartment in Chandler. Or better yet, a bigger, better house with multiple bedrooms for family and guests. That specific vision got me through many stressful weekend twilights. Tomorrow I will act out the beginning of that dream. I am going to finish packing in the morning, go workout, take my daughter to school then head straight east. I still have my company car and a paycheck for the time being. I am going enjoy the brief glimpse of that vision come true then head to Wyoming on Tuesday to visit my mom.

October 19, 2024, Saturday night, 6:29pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Aliso Viejo, California,USA. I am happy. My daughters mom is out of town so I am enjoying a day with my daughter and the dog. Monday i am going to take a long needed vacation and drive to the places I always want to but never have the time. I will drive to Arizona Monday then drive up through Vegas Tuesday. I should be in Wyoming late Tuesday or early Wednesday depending on time.
