April 20,2025,Easter Sunday,4:30pm,pacific standard time, apartment in Aliso Viejo, California, USA. The dog and I made the same walk this morning followed a quick trip to the gym and grabbing coffee. I was craving Panera’s hazelnut coffee but they were closed. I assume for the Easter holiday. I got Starbucks from the store by my daughters school instead. At 10am the dog and I went to Dana Point to do a load of laundry and grab clothes for the work week. My daughter called and gave me an update on her adventure. She is tired and ready to come home. After lunch and a nap the dog and I took another walk. Now we are watching Netflix and i am catching up on work. We are going to go for a little drive this evening when the sun sets and finish this Sunday on a high note.

April 19,2025,Saturday night,6:11pm,pacific standard time, apartment in Aliso Viejo, California,USA. The dog woke me up early so we went for a walk past the park, the middle school and up through the California Reflections neighborhood. I was tired afterwards so we went back to bed. At 9am I went to San Clemente to return the rental car I got while my car was being serviced. At 2pm the dog and I drove to Dana Point to pick up my suit that was delivered from J. Crew. My updated passport was also in the mail. That was a pleasant surprise. Since returning to Aliso around 4pm work has been busy. Mostly with a patient issue at an assisted living in fountain valley. There isn’t much going on with my family out of town so the emails, texts and phone calls have been an all right distraction.

April 18,2025,Friday night,6:25pm,pacific standard time, apartment in Aliso Viejo, California,USA. Today we had a meeting with my daughter’s school and district representatives. Overall it went well. The principal was a little terse, but that is her natural state. Every one from the district was extremely complimentary. Afterwards, my daughter and her mom came home to pack. They are on their way to Texas for an anime convention. I left work early to say goodbye and grab an overnight bag from my apartment. I am going to spend the weekend in Aliso Viejo with the dog.

April 17,2025,Thursday morning,7:39am,pacific standard time,parking garage at work,Costa Mesa, California,USA. Today was a good morning. I have enjoyed a peaceful start to the day and feel happy. It rained a little last night and this morning but the walk was nice. I had down time at home before arriving at work. Leaving no later than 7:15am gives me time to get here and avoid the worst of traffic. April 17 is a milestone day. It became a milestone because of a great memory of Easter Sunday 2022. Being with family and friends, going to a movie and a picnic to top the day off. Then Last year I got to travel back to Arizona for work this time of year so it became a double good memory day. Finally, in 2021 it was the first day I traveled back to Dana Point from Arizona after letting go of the condo on Santa Clara. I stayed at My daughter and her mom’s house and slept on the couch. Not the best of times but pleasant memories nonetheless.

April 16,2025,Wednesday evening,6:02pm,pacific standard time,parking lot,school of rock, San Juan Capistrano,California, USA. Dropped my car off at the shop this morning then took a Lyft to San Clemente to pick up a rental car. I got good news from the mechanic. He said I could hold off on changing the spark plugs. Also, the air conditioner issue was only a burned out relay. That should save a lot of money. I still need to change the transmission fluid, replace the timing belt and get the back brakes fixed but it could have been much more expensive. I won’t worry about that at the moment. For now I enjoying driving a different car and look forward to having air conditioning again in the near future.

April 15,2025,Tuesday night,6pm,pacific standard time,apartment in Aliso Viejo, California,USA. I led the staff meeting at work today. It went well. We talked about how to share our hospice story, what sets our program apart and how to ask for the opportunity to care for more people. We have a ways to go to improve quality and increase referral volume but it is a start. After work I took my daughter to Walgreens to pick up the print of a character she drew. she was so excited when she opened the envelope. I enjoyed seeing how happy it made her. Finally, the rear wheel on my car has been making a weird noise. I was going to defer maintenance until October but that doesn’t seem prudent right now. I got a good deal on a rental car so I will drop off my car at the shop then get a ride to pick up the rental.

April 14,2025,Monday afternoon,3:48pm,pacific standard time,office in Costa Mesa, California,USA. This day has been a drag. I got up at three and went for a walk, napped in my car until the gym opened at 5am. Got to the office at 7:30am. It has been slow and boring. I don’t really want to do anything else. I just want the day to be over. I am hanging out in the kitchen area because I don’t want to sit at my desk. I am burned out drinking water and coffee and tired of chewing gum.

April 13,2025,Sunday afternoon,3:49pm,pacific standard time,Starbucks in Laguna Niguel, California,USA. Did the Blue Lantern walk this morning and worked out at Planet Fitness. I also worked on my 999+ book this morning. I had a good breakthrough about my relationship with work,art,life and creativity. It put me in a happy place and I have stayed there all day. After washing clothes I went to Target and bought things for Easter. My daughter and her mom will be in Texas next week so we are going to celebrate this evening. I bought way too much stuff and I am still going to stop by See’s Candy and grab one more thing. I bought more candy than she possibly can eat. After Target I drove to Fashion Island in Newport Beach to see a friend who was working at the Nordstrom’s. I hadn’t seen her in a year so it was good to catch up. She wanted me to stay until her break but I was tired and needed a nap so I came home to rest and watch some of the Masters golf tournament. On another note, I am remembering my trip to Arizona a year ago this week. I can’t believe how fast the time has passed.

April 12,2025,Saturday night,7:38pm,pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Did the walk to the walk again today. This time was a little easier but still daunting. Two hours of walking is a lot. Afterwards, I had a call with a recruiter about a job in San Bernardino. I wasn’t really seriously looking but it had a President title so I was intrigued. Turns out the recruiter works with my company so he made a big to do about not being able to work with me. I felt guilty. Like I did something wrong. He reached out to me and I said I wanted to hear more. Not sure why either of us should feel bad. Anyway, around noon I went to the mall. The place I like to shop is having a sale on suits so I picked one out. They didn’t have my size in stock so they will ship it to me. They also had the pants I like on sale. I got a store credit card to get even more savings. All in all I came out with a jacket, a pair of suit pants and two pairs of chinos. Not a bad haul. I also took my daughter to lunch and dinner (Chick-fil-A and Zen sushi respectively) walked the dog, went shopping, made a fruit bowl and worked on my 999+ book. I have to say, all things considered, it was a good Saturday.

April 11,2025, Friday night,8:04pm,pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. My daughter’s school had their spring BBQ/potluck today. I left work early and got there right when it started. It was fun to see her in a different setting. She seems to enjoy having us there for events like this. I stayed until 12:30pm then worked from home the rest of the afternoon. I also took an hour long nap today. It felt so good to get some rest. Unfortunately, I feel a sinus infection coming on. Looks like I am going to be down for the count this weekend.
