July 11,2025,Friday night,8:32pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. The highlight of my day was waking up before 2:30am, finishing my walk and driving home before 4am. That gave me over three hours to workout, read, do puzzles and get ready for work. I was a little tired but nothing unmanageable. It was a slow day at work. Which makes me nervous. Everyone gets anxious when admissions are low. My daughter texted me at a quarter to five pm asking if we could leave Sunday instead of tomorrow. I told her that is fine. We probably didn’t need six days in Wyoming. Though we won’t be able to go to a Salt Lake Bees game this trip. Oh well, we will still have a good time. Truth be told I could use a day to decompress and pack.

July 10,2025,Thursday night,8:27pm,pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. The clinical director did ride-a-long visits and competency checks with two home health aides today. When she got back I asked her how they went. According to her things went well. One of the aides mentioned she doesn’t want me or the clinical director to leave. She is happy and thankful for the leadership we provide. Hearing that made my day. The home health aides are more independent than the other disciplines. We don’t interact with them as much. That they appreciate our leadership validates us as directors. I am thankful she took the time to share the sentiment and that the director passed it on.

July 9,2025,Wednesday evening,6:15pm,pacific standard time,parking lot,school of rock,san Juan Capistrano,California, USA. Went to a meeting in Irvine today at a business started by my first boss in Orange County. He hired me to be the Senior director of sales back in 2012 when we both worked for a locally headquartered hospice company. That position ended up not working out but it did get me to California, where I have remained (more of less) for 13 years. I am thankful for the opportunity he gave me. I got to raise my daughter in a Orange County. That is, and was, the most important thing to me. It was good to see him again and catch up.

July 8,2025,Tuesday night,7:27pm,pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. went to a mixer at Bayshire Yorba Linda today. It was good to get out of the office and be social. Otherwise it was another day of office routine. I didn’t go to the gym this morning. Usually I only go if it is the weekend or a back day and I need the pull up bars and seated rowing bench. Going to the gym takes too much time. I would rather work out at home and have an extra hour of leisure than go to the gym and feel rushed. I might join a gym in San Clemente that is open 24 hours. That is one solution.

July 7,2025,Monday afternoon,4:10pm,pacific standard time,office in Costa Mesa, California,USA. I have become numb to the routine of working in an office 9 hours of the day. Not drinking, dating or really eating much has left all other alternatives rather boring. My goal with work going forward is to stay steady and keep moving forward. I am not interested in change or drama. I am putting in my time, paying my bills and building a retirement portfolio.. I have changed so much as a person this past year.

July 6,2025,Sunday night,7:02pm,pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. I have been staying up later recently. Which has been nice. Dana Point is so beautiful in the evening. If I didn’t feel sleepy I would stay up all night and nap when I needed rest. There is so much to experience. I want to enjoy as much as possible while I can. Sometimes I imagine waking up at midnight and starting my day at the turn of the clock. After all, it is technically “morning.” Not quite sure I am there yet but it would be interesting to try one of these days. today the dog and I did the blue lantern walk. Then we came back to my apartment and hung out until the afternoon when we drove up to Aliso Viejo. My daughter got home around 6pm. She told me about the anime convention and showed me all the things she bought. It was great seeing her again. Frankly, I am glad the weekend is over. I loved hanging with the dog but it got a little boring and lonely after a while.

July 5,2025,Saturday night,8:54pm,pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. My daughter’s mom wasn’t coming home until later so I brought the dog back to Dana Point. We went for a walk this morning then I left for a little while to workout. Just as yesterday, I went at planet fitness off El Toro. Other than a trip to the oak canyon office park we didn’t do much. Watched the show Younger on Netflix while I kept up on work texts and emails.

July 4,2025,Friday night,7:47pm,pacific standard time, apartment in Aliso Viejo, California,USA. Today was the first day since last Thursday I didn’t need to take ibuprofen or Tylenol. Hopefully I will continue to feel better. Yesterday was frustrating. Spent the day with the dog. We went for a walk then I drove to the Planet Fitness in Lake Forest for a workout. Afterwards we lounged around until 2pm then went for a walk around the office park off Oak Canyon in Irvine. Other than that I answered some work emails, calls and texts but nothing crazy.

July 3,2025, Thursday evening,6:03pm,pacific standard time, apartment in Aliso Viejo, California,USA. Today was awful. I had a severe relapse of whatever inflicted me last week. I was miserable all day, even with ibuprofen and Tylenol. It started to relent after work but I am spent. I am going to bed early and resting all day tomorrow.

July 2,2025, Wednesday night,7:55pm,pacific standard time, apartment in Aliso Viejo, California,USA. I am staying in Aliso Viejo with the dog for the next three nights while my daughter and her mom go to an anime convention in Los Angeles. Unfortunately they had to turn around twice to grab forgotten items. Now they are making their way through traffic. In the meantime I am helping the dog deal with a stubborn pack of fleas. After a quick trip to the pet store and $100 later she has a new flea collar, a potent spray repellent and a large bottle of cleaner for her bedding. She will be as good as new in no time.
