Inadvertent scare

5:33pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Wednesday evening, June 22, 2022. Another day, another interview. This one was a brief meeting with a new recruiter concerning a position here in the valley. I said I was willing to move forward but, to be honest, it is not really the right job for me. Also, this afternoon, I wrote follow up emails from yesterdays interviews and scheduled two more meetings for the rest of the week. On a personal note, my daughter’s mom texted this morning saying our daughter was exposed to Covid yesterday. Apparently, there is no concern unless she starts showing symptoms. Of course, as a concerned parent, I texted my daughter to see how she was feeling and to say I was worried about her. She was surprised. Apparently, the information was conveyed to her mom after she had gone to morning summer classes, but my daughter herself had not heard about the situation. The good news is, no issues so far. The bad news, I inadvertently gave her a scare.

Ready to be over

6:21am, pacific standard time, apartment in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Tuesday evening, June 21, 2022. First interview this morning was interesting. Talked with the company CEO. He asked questions about high school, my brother, parents etc. He seemed more interested in chatting than discussing the job. On one hand it was relaxed but, on the other, not very productive. The second interview today was late afternoon, 3:30pm. It was for the job in Rancho Cucamonga, California . I had low expectations but, turned out to be the best meeting of the day. Still in the initial stages with that one so more to come. The 3rd, and last, interview, was directly after the second. It went alright. A one-on-one with a corporate clinical leader. Not necessarily insightful but, not terrible. For the rest of the week I have; an initial meeting 9am tomorrow with. Recruiter about a position here in Phoenix, a third interview Thursday morning with one of the Riverside groups, and potentially an interview Friday with the other Riverside, California group. To be honest, it is all very confusing, and slightly frustrating. I am ready for the process to be over.

Get rolling

6:02pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Monday evening, June 20, 2022. Not much going on today. Ran some errands to get out of the house and keep busy. Tomorrow, however, is a full day. I have an interview at 9am, another one at 3:30pm and one directly after that at 4pm. I have a phone call Wednesday at 9am and another call Thursday afternoon. On top of that I am waiting to hear back about another position. This is the week a decision is made. Time to pick and path and get rolling.

Trip to Sedona, Arizona

5:07pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Thursday evening, June 16, 2022. Drove to Sedona today to get out of the house. Enjoyed the drive and took some pictures. While there, I was contacted for two follow up interviews next week. That is in addition to a couple already scheduled. Finally, I applied for two more jobs. One of the follow up interviews is for a job I really want; it isn’t a director position, which makes for a nice change. If that one comes to fruition it is definitely my first choice.

Wednesday June 15

4:48pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Wednesday afternoon, June 15, 2022. Woke up early to walk and work out, wrote a little then applied for unemployment. The second interview today was rescheduled for Friday. Turns out the Rancho Cucamonga job also covers Riverside. Not sure what is going on there with so many vacancies! That is three jobs at the same time. Started looking at Chaplain positions as well but, haven’t applied yet. It would be nice to have something to do, earn some money and get benefits again.

Get on with life

6:35pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Tuesday evening, June 14, 2022. One interview this morning for a position in Riverside, California. It seemed to go alright but, there was no follow up as expected, so now I am unsure. Two interviews are scheduled for tomorrow, both in California; Riverside again and Rancho Cucamonga. The Riverside one was a surprise. When I applied it said the position was in Phoenix. As always, I remain open to any possibility. However, the constant interviewing is getting old. Time to land an offer and get on with life.

Another good day

6:17pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Monday evening, June 13, 2022. Had a good day; set up an interview for tomorrow morning and was contacted about two other jobs. One of them is in Phoenix, the others are in California. Not sure how viable any of them are, but I am open to explore. Nothing came of the San Diego opportunity from a couple weeks ago, or the other jobs I interviewed for, but no worries; life moves forward and so do I. Continued working on the manuscript I found last week. It has been enjoyable creating something fun.

To fruition

6:13pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Monday evening, June 6, 2022. The virtual interview went well this morning. However, there could be an issue with a contract. They have a non-hire clause with the company I previously worked for. It unfortunately may be a dealbreaker. On different note, I did not hear back from San Diego. That is alright. I realize everyday I don’t want to go back to that role. This morning I saw new possibilities; moving back to California, taking the job I interviewed for today and doing PRN chaplain work to make up the salary difference. I have seen the solution, now I just need to bring it to fruition.

Clarity coming

3:59pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Friday afternoon, June 3, 2022. The people from San Diego reached out today. Weirdest thing; they insinuated an offer would be made, but didn’t make one. Not sure what the hold up may be, guess I will find out next week. The recruiter for the Senior leadership job in Orange County touched base again. I don’t think that is a job worth pursuing, for many reasons. Finally, the position I find most intriguing, the support for the electronic medical record company, also reached out today. We set up an interview time for Monday morning. Things are starting to come together. Next week should provide clarity.

How much change is too much?

4:57pm, pacific standard time, parking lot in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Wednesday afternoon, June 1, 2022. Signed my severance agreement today and sent it back. The money should be in my account the end of next week. Two interviews are scheduled for tomorrow; one is San Diego job and the other is for the opportunity I mentioned yesterday. I am contemplating Chaplaincy more. I want change, I want to do something I like but, I am struggling with how much change to make.
