3:11pm, pacific standard time, parking lot, Phoenix, Arizona, USA, Thursday afternoon, May 26, 2022. The meeting about severance with the previous company went well. I will have the document reviewed just to be sure but, it does help bridge the gap. Also, the interview in Glendale was positive this afternoon. It is a fast growing start up company. The opportunity is excellent but, the position won’t be available until August. That is too far away to be an option for me. I have one more virtual meeting today at 5pm. From what I gather it is with a senior living company in Orange County, California starting their own hospice. It might be a bootstrap operation for a while. Not sure how it will go but, I remain open to anything.

Job updates, Wednesday, May 25
3:28pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Wednesday afternoon, May 25, 2022. Busy day today; finally have a meeting tomorrow morning to discuss my severance with the previous company. After that, I drive to Glendale for an in-person interview to explore the Senior Leadership position I was contacted for yesterday. Finally, I have a virtual interview with a hospice in Orange County, California tomorrow evening at 5pm. A lot of options available, now it is time to see which is the best one.
San Diego update
5:21am, pacific standard time, apartment in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Wednesday morning, May 11, 2022. Yesterday was the second interview for the job in San Diego; this time with the hiring manager. Our conversation was engaging, lasting longer than the time allotted for the call; which is typically a good sign. He told me I would advance to the next round and that a recruiter would be reaching out for appointment times. At this point, there are likely four interviews to go; perhaps fewer, if some are done as a group or in panel format. Depending on their urgency and desire to fill the position quickly, I should know a definitive outcome by the end of next week.
Vacillate
5:21am, pacific standard time, apartment in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Friday morning, May 6, 2022. The interview for the Director position in San Diego, California went fine yesterday, just a preliminary phone screen to discuss qualifications and work history. I will know more next week. In the meantime my chaplain endorsement is falling into place. One more colleague needs to complete a reference letter. Once that is done I will have an interview with the governing board and be submitted as a candidate. I constantly vacillate between my stressful, yet lucrative, career path and returning to being a Chaplain.
Tuesday morning
5:39am It feels like a lightening storm is going off in my brain. I have all these thoughts that flash bright then disappear. There are so many things I want but don’t know how to get. I miss Orange County. I miss my daughter. I miss seeing her everyday and taking her to activities. I want to succeed professionally. I want a stable income. I want to stay in Arizona. I want to move. I want to buy a house. I want to quit. It is emotionally draining. I have the Denver interview today at 8am. I have my one on one with my supervisor at 11:30am.
Monday night
6:56pm today was a better day. I felt more confident. I am still dealing with the staffing issues from last week but I am not as frustrated. Tomorrow morning is the interview for the job in Denver. I don’t have much expectation there but I am curious to hear about it.
