5:05pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Friday evening, July 22, 2022. There has been minimal response to my “truck for sale” ad so I drove to a dealer for an offer. It came in pretty low. Nonetheless, I think I am going to take it. My goal is not having to register and insure the truck any more, rather than make money. On a professional note; I was offered the Executive Director Specialist role. Not only is it a better job but, the base pay and bonus potential is higher. Things are moving fast in my world, with lots of potential for a bright future.

Foreseeable future
4:59pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Monday evening, June 27, 2022. Not much going on today; usual morning routine, took the truck out for a short drive before it got hot, then went out in the afternoon to walk around a couple air-conditioned stores. A friend who has an in with the Rancho Cucamonga team (she knows the hiring manager) texted me to say she thinks I will get a job offer. Unfortunately, there is still a week until the second interview, and that probably isn’t the end of the process. By that time I expect to know one way or the other about the Riverside, California job. Truth be told, I don’t have a preference either way. It would be nice to have a choice since it concerns a large part of my foreseeable future but, if the Riverside job is offered I will take it.
Glacier slow
5:25pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Friday evening, June 24, 2022. Two interviews today; first was the fourth in a series with one of the two Riverside, California groups. The meeting went well, good conversation between me and the regional Human Resources Director. From what he shared I am their choice and an offer should be coming by the end of next week. The second interview did not go so well. It was for the other Riverside, California position. There were a lot of red flags with that outfit to begin with (posting and hiring behind someone’s back) and the conversation with the Chief Marketing Officer was less than impressive. I will not move forward with them. No word on the Client Success Executive position. I assume it is a no go but, you never know. Seems employers disappear for days, even weeks, then contact me again out of the blue. Finally, the Rancho Cucamonga, California team got back to me this morning but, they don’t want to meet until the week after next. Crazy. Is it just me or is every hiring process going glacier slow these days? I don’t think I have interviewed this much in my life without getting at least one offer.
Weekend almost here
6:01pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Thursday evening, June 23, 2022. Third interview with one of the Riverside, California groups today. That seemed to go well. I have a fourth interview scheduled for tomorrow with the Vice President of Human Resources. We should have a final in-person interview next week and make a decision then. In the meantime, I have a second interview with the Chief Marketing Officer for the other Riverside, California group tomorrow. Finally, the Rancho Cucamonga, California team got back to me saying they will set up a time for a second interview but, nothing has been set as of yet. I have not heard from the people I would like to work with most for the Client Success Executive role. It would be nice to get an answer one way or the other so I can make a decision when the time comes. On a personal note, my daughter stayed home from summer school today. She said she had a headache but, truth be told, I think she saw an opportunity to get out of going to school and took it. Hopefully she is alright. I am feeling a little under the weather myself so I shouldn’t be too quick to judge. Perhaps the heat getting to me, I don’t know. All I know is I am glad tomorrow is Friday and the weekend is almost here.
Get on with life
6:35pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Tuesday evening, June 14, 2022. One interview this morning for a position in Riverside, California. It seemed to go alright but, there was no follow up as expected, so now I am unsure. Two interviews are scheduled for tomorrow, both in California; Riverside again and Rancho Cucamonga. The Riverside one was a surprise. When I applied it said the position was in Phoenix. As always, I remain open to any possibility. However, the constant interviewing is getting old. Time to land an offer and get on with life.
