6:27pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Aliso Viejo, California, USA, Saturday night, December 10, 2022. Hanging with the family, watching anime together. We don’t always spend time as an entire group, watching one program. It is nice. The day has been good; went for the full walk in Dana Point this morning, drank coffee, did laundry and grocery shopping. All in all, today has been a good early December day in Southern California.

Time to slow down
6:14pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA, Sunday evening, August 21, 2022. Went for a walk this morning, worked out, ran to the store then did a couple loads of laundry. Once we got everything taken care of I took my daughter to dinner. We are in for the night now. As best I can
5:49pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA, Saturday evening, August 20, 2022. Spent most of the day at the apartment with my daughter. Went for a walk in the morning and then grabbed dinner along with the mail this afternoon. My daughter’s mom is coming home with a family friend to discuss a healthcare issue with her sister. Sounds like a difficult situation. I will help as best I can.
I would have been embarrassed
8:53pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA, Friday night, August 19, 2022. Dropped my daughter off at school this morning. First day of high school. Boy, has time has gone fast. Afterwards, I drove to Irvine and found an office building with an empty suite. The door was propped open with marketing material set out, indicating potential tenants were free to enter and look around. The place wasn’t busy so I walked through the lobby to the back area. It was empty and most lights were off but, there was power to charge my devices and enough cell reception to use my phone’s hot spot. I stayed for three hours and got a lot of work done. It was nice to have a place to camp out but, I must admit, I would have been embarrassed if someone walked in and saw me.
Exciting end
8:54pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, Thursday night, August 18, 2022. It is my daughter’s birthday today. I left Arizona around 10am and got to Orange County shortly before five. We went to dinner at a local sushi restaurant, then came home for cake with friends. Tomorrow is the first day of high school for my daughter. All in all, it is an exciting end to the week.
Time to relax
6:49pm, pacific standard time, hotel in Rancho Mirage, California, USA, Tuesday night, August 16, 2022. Didn’t leave the office until almost six pm because meetings ran long. Then I stopped to get dinner before heading back to the hotel. Time to relax and prepare for tomorrow.
Living situations
5:20pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Sunday evening, July 24, 2022. Discussed living situations with my daughter’s mom yesterday. Nothing definitive was decided. She is going to stay in Dana Point until January and I still have the apartment in Chandler until March. That buys us time to discern the best course of action. I will start my job next month and see what the travel schedule looks like before making a final decision.
Waiting for the key
5:40pm, pacific standard time, Dana Point, California, USA, Saturday evening, July 23, 2022. Drove to Orange County this morning to go to the beach with my daughter and some friends. After a long hot day we arrived home to a locked door. We are sitting outside, waiting for the key.
Owe it
4:42pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Tuesday afternoon, July 19, 2022. Had a second interview this morning for the specialist position in California. It seemed to go really well. They are going to make a hiring decision at the end of this week. If I am chosen that gives me enough time to inform the Rancho Cucamonga group I changed my mind. I don’t like going back on my commitment but, the specialist job is better on many levels; financially, personally and professionally. I owe it to my family and myself to move forward if given the opportunity.
