The place was busy on a Friday night. I was jealous to see so many people passionate about a sport. Maybe I need to expand my horizons and get into an activity with similar commitment. My daughter ended up not bowling. Her and her boyfriend went to the arcade with some other kids and found a corner to hang out in. They did typical teenage stuff, nothing over the top but nothing parent approved either. It is weird to all the sudden worry about her regarding boys and hormones.

February 8, 2024, Thursday evening, 7:32pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Working from home is not satisfying. I feel like I am running at half-speed. I need the separation between work and home to be balanced. When I am at here work feels like an annoying distraction. I am not on top of my game and it is frustrating. I need to get back on the road next week.

February 7, 2024, Wednesday night, 6:46pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Had my second executive coaching session today. To be honest I treat the time as therapeutic. That feels more valuable, for her and me. Today, I unburdened my insecurities and she provided good insight and guidance. When it was over I came away with specific action items to work on and a renewed sense of hope. The sessions feel worthwhile. I look forward to next week.

February 6, 2024, Tuesday night, 7:43pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. After work I drove up to see my daughter in Aliso Viejo. She found a Mac n Cheese recipe online she wanted to try. Her mom bought the ingredients over the weekend but they hadn’t found time to cook it. So after dinner tonight my daughter and I made the dish. It turned out all right. Perhaps not the best Mac n Cheese ever made but it was fun. I got to do something constructive with my daughter and we made a nice memory.

February 5, 2024, Monday night, 7:09pm, pacific standard time,apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. The rain finally let up after almost 24 hours straight. it is supposed to rain more tomorrow. They had to put sandbags outside my patio to keep it from flooding. I did a load of laundry this afternoon and was greeted by two small frogs when I opened the door. Even they were trying to find a dry place to rest.

February 4, 2024, Sunday night, 10:47pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Very low key day. Slept in, went for a walk, took my daughter to Jamba Juice, hung out while her mom went shopping then came back to Dana Point before the big storm hit. It hasn’t been as bad as expected. I went to bed early but woke up to use the bathroom. It is drizzling but not the ‘life threatening’ storm predicted.

February 3, 2024, Saturday night, 11:56pm, pacific standard time, apartment complex parking lot, Dana Point, California, USA. Drove out to Corona this evening after dinner to meet a friend for drinks at the Lazy Dog Restaurant. We had a good conversation. She talked about coming to Dana Point next weekend. I think that would be good. It will be nice to have a visitor for a little bit.

February 2, 2024, Friday night, 8:23pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. made it through the week. Today was my bosses last day. It has been hard. She was integral to my success the last year and half. She did tell me who her replacement is. Ironically I interviewed with him for a different company before I took this job. I thought we connected so I am excited we will work together. I still think the year will go well, it will just different than I expected.

February 1, 2024, Thursday night, 6:30pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. It rained hard this morning. Since my schedule was light I took it as an opportunity to rearrange furniture. When I moved back last year I purposefully left many boxes unpacked. Truth is, I was mourning my comfortable space in Arizona and consequently avoiding change. But now that I have had more visitors recently I see how impractical the layout was, especially in the bed room. So I moved storage bins around and pushed the bed closer to the far wall. That freed up open space between the bedroom and bathroom. All in all I am pleased with the results. The room feels bigger and more welcoming.

January 31, 2024, Wednesday night, 7:08pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Drove to San Bernardino today for meetings with the marketing team. Afterwards I stayed and caught up with corporate visitors. I didn’t leave the office until after 5pm. I had packed an overnight bag just in case but decided to drive home instead of getting a hotel. I probably should have stayed the night. The drive was long, traffic was bad and gps took me all over the place. Now I am grouchy. Tomorrow I will appreciate the fact I came home early but for now I am annoyed.
