February 29, 2024, Monday night, Presidents’ Day, 6:33pm, pacific standard time, hotel room in Victorville, California, USA. Met with my new boss this afternoon via video chat. It went well. We talked for a half hour and will get together again once he is through orientation. I actually had talked with him two years ago for an executive director position with a different company. I am excited. I like his energy and style more. We will get along well. That being said I have a lot of anxiety built up. I have felt that way for a couple of days. Hopefully it abates soon. The wind is blowing outside my hotel room and the heater is working hard. It is a rare winters day in California.

February 18, 2024, Sunday night, 8:04pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Went to Riptide restaurant with my daughter and her mom for a Teppanyaki and Sushi dinner to celebrate my birthday. My daughter was having some issues with an online friend so she wasn’t in the best mood. But we still had fun. I am tired from going out both Friday and Saturday night. I need to get a good nights rest and start the week fresh.

February 17, 2024, Saturday evening, 6:22pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Did my first “triple quad” today. The triple quad is three walks and a work out. First is walking up blue lantern, then a hour on the treadmill, followed by a workout and finally walking my daughters dog in Aliso Viejo. I actually got a late start and did them in reverse order. As a result I got to see the sunset on my final walk. Now I am going to shower and drive to Fullerton to meet up with a friend.

February 16, 2024, Friday afternoon, 3:37pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Feeling a little vulnerable today. Not sure what is causing it. The weather was slightly overcast. My daughter didn’t have school on account of Presidents’ Day weekend but I went to Aliso Viejo anyway to take the dog to the vet in Laguna Beach. Afterwards, I brought the dog came home with me since my daughter’s mom was having her apartment cleaned. I am supposed to go out tonight but not overly enthused. I am sure once evening rolls around I will feel more festive.

February 15, 2024, Thursday evening, 6:17pm, pacific standard time,apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Drove from Palm Desert to Long Beach this morning for a meeting. When I checked last night the travel estimate was two hours. However, this morning it took three. I left early to account for traffic and still was 30 minutes late. The meeting went fine and o got home around 4pm. Now unpacking and getting settled in for the upcoming weekend.

February 14, 2024, Valentine’s Day, Wednesday night, 8:1pm, pacific standard time, hire in Pal Desert, California,USA. Drove from Victorville to Palm Desert this morning. Had some calls in the afternoon then a in person meeting at the branch. Afterwards I grabbed groceries and dinner from Panera. I will go to bed soon. I have to drive to Long Beach in the morning for a meeting with the business development team.

February 13, 2024, Tuesday evening, 6:56pm, pacific standard time, hotel room in Victorville,California, USA. Went to the branch in Apple valley today. Work was so busy time went by fast. It was nice to be in an office again. I get so much more done when I am around other people. I Talked to mom on the phone this evening. I am still planning to go see her next month. tomorrow I leave for palm desert.

February 12, 2024, Monday night, 7:00pm, pacific standard time, hotel room, Garden Inn, Victorville, California, USA. This is the first over night travel I have done in almost three weeks. Ironically, I feel more at home in a hotel than I do my apartment. In a hotel room I stick to self-care routines and have a more regular sleep schedule. That makes me glad to get back out and visit branches. Otherwise, the day was uneventful. I drove on Route 66 coming up and had dinner door dashed from flame broiler. For dessert I ate chocolate chip cookies my daughters mom made for the Super Bowl party along with a cherry tootsie pop and some now stale gummy lifesavers. I watched the office on Comedy Central while I ate. Then I texted with my friend visiting Washington DC and now I am going to read and watch videos before turning out the light.

February 11, 2024, Sunday night, 2024, 8:22pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Had friends over to watch the Super Bowl this afternoon. The game was long and went into overtime. By the time it was over everyone had left. I enjoyed hosting. It is a new energy for me. Usually I am passive and let others do the planning. In this case I told people when to arrive and what to bring. I also was proactive enough to get my daughter and her mom Valentine’s Day gifts since I won’t be in town Wednesday. I am proud. I want to keep improving being more considerate.

February 10, 2024, Saturday night, 7:22pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Today is the one year anniversary of getting the keys to this apartment. It is a Bittersweet memory. I enjoy living in Dana Point but don’t care for this space much. The location is excellent, however the apartment itself is impractically laid out and small. I shouldn’t complain, I am thankful to be back in Orange County but I still miss my apartment in Chandler. We went to dinner with my cousin and her family tonight. There are visiting from Northern California. We ate at Project Social in Dana Point. The food was good and reasonably priced, a rarity for Dana point. Usually meals are ultra expensive. The conversation was nice. It was great seeing them again and catching up.
