Adjusting

March 9,2026,Monday morning,8:30am,pacific standard time,office in Costa Mesa, California,USA. Yesterday was the start of daylight savings time. I got up late, walked on the treadmill and worked out at planet fitness in Laguna Niguel then did laundry. In the afternoon I took my daughter to Dunkin, went to the El Toro planet fitness for another treadmill walk and saw the movie Send Help in Aliso Viejo. After that I took my daughter to Panera then headed home. This morning I slept in. I am not quite adjusted to the time change. I will get in the groove starting tomorrow.

Sunday March 8

March 8,2026,Sunday morning, 7:02am, pacific standard time,Planet Fitness, Laguna Niguel, California,. I slept in until 6:30am this morning. Which is fine. It allowed me to come straight to the gym and walk on the treadmill before doing resistance training. Yesterday I ordered contacts and got my eyes checked. Today I am going to look for glasses frames. I have my current pair for over five years. Definitely time for an upgrade.

Saturday

March 7,2026, Saturday morning,5:56am,pacific standard time, in Dana Point, California, USA. The Santa Ana winds are strong this morning. Going uphill on the blue lantern route the wind was in my face. That made it a little challenging. However, coming down the hill I couldn’t help but run. It was almost too easy letting momentum carry me away. not sure what I am going to do today. I feel a little antsy.

Friday

March 6,2026,Friday morning,3:23am,pacific standard time,apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Just got back from walking the Blue Lantern route. The temperature was a little colder than anticipated. I need some coffee to warm up. There are no major plans this weekend. Of course I seldom have major weekend plans. I might take a walk with someone I connected with online. We will see if that works out.

New routine

March 5,2026, Thursday morning, 3:51am,pacific standard time,apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Today was the fourth morning in a row I got up between 2-2:30am and did the PCH/Santa Clara route. It hasn’t been a conscious choice, rather my body seems to have chosen that time and that course as consistently optimal. We will see how next week goes with daylight savings time. Yesterday, I changed into workout clothes before taking my daughter to music. I then spent the hour walking along the river path. That turned out great. Rather than sitting in my car watching videos and fretting about a looming late workout I got my evening walk in and still had time to home early. I plan on doing that regularly from now on.

Road traveled

March 4,2026,Wednesday morning,4:01am,pacific standard time, in Dana Point, California, USA. While walking on the treadmill in the evening I started reading occasional news articles. The distraction makes time pass quicker and allows my mind to discover new ideas. Last night I passed the time reading old blog posts from 2022. Comparing past experience to where I am today is interesting. Some memories have faded with time while others are still fresh. I suppose that is the value of keeping a blog/journal. Being able to reflect on past experiences, both good and bad, an appreciate the figurative road traveled.

Tuesday

March 3,2026,Tuesday morning, 3:48am, pacific standard time,apartment in Dana point, California,USA. The weather outside was a little colder this morning but I still managed a good walk. I took the PCH/Blue Lantern route without listening to music. That is a rarity. Usually I wear my headphones and listen to motivational songs. I am still figuring out my diet. There are a bunch of things I can no longer tolerate. That means two things; I have to replace the calories in those foods and second I need to find some variety. My diet was pretty uninspiring before having to change. Now it will be that much blander.

Monday morning

March 2,2026,Monday morning,3:50am,pacific standard time, in Dana Point, California, USA. I woke up at 2:30am this morning and did the Santa Clara/PCH route. Now I am having a builder bar and watching the weather. This weekend flew by. Which is always a good sign for the week to come. Best to stay busy and enjoy each day as they go quickly. Yesterday I did laundry, took my daughter to breakfast, bought running pants (I am debating returning them) walked the dog, and bought insoles for my new shoes. today is going to be a great day.

Sunday morning

I started this morning walking the Blue Lantern route then doing a back workout at Planet Fitness. Afterwards I got my birthday drink from Peet’s Coffee and Tea House. Now I am doing laundry and enjoy the early morning sunshine.
