Feeling better

February 3,2026,Tuesday morning,3:19am,pacific standard time,apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. I have been dealing with a sprained trapezius muscle for a couple months. So long that it felt like a chronic condition. However the last three days I have felt my range of motion return. I will never take putting my hands on my hips, crossing my arms or raising my hands above my head for granted again. Last night I went to a planet fitness and walked on the treadmill for an hour. psychologically it is hard to gear up for a workout at night but once I got started I enjoyed the experience. Plus it gives me flexibility with my schedule. I woke up early this morning because I wanted to, not because I had to. That was a refreshing change of perspective.

Third weekend morning

February 2,2026, Monday morning, 7:20am, pacific standard time,parking garage at work, Costa Mesa, California,USA. Yesterday, after taking my daughter to lunch and walking the dog I went to the gym to walk on the treadmill. I did the same thing last Sunday and enjoyed it so I thought I would try again. I ended up walking for an hour. I decided I would count that as my walk for this morning and slept in like I normally soon Saturday and Sunday. That mindset has made an amazing difference. I feel like I gained a third weekend morning. Even sleeping in as late as I want in have plenty of time to make it to work.

Sunday

February 1,2026,Sunday morning,5:57am,pacific standard time,apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. My cousin and her family were in town yesterday. We met for lunch at Station Craft Brewery + Kitchen in Dana Point. The food and the conversation were enjoyable. afterwards my daughter and her mom came to my apartment and visited briefly. They wanted to go shopping so I took a nap and met up with them back in Aliso. I walked the dog then took my daughter to In & Out for dinner before she connected with friends in Irvine. This morning I walked the Blue Lantern route. The moon was so bright and full it looked like sunrise in some places. I am extremely happy and at peace right now. Both this immediate moment and for the past year. I am grateful for who I am and the gifts I have been given.

Mixer results

January 31,2026,Saturday morning,5:09am,pacific standard time, in Dana point, California, USA. No one showed up to our mixer last night. one nurse practitioner and her friend came, that was it. $1600 spent on food and drinks for a small return. I am glad we had the events though. The conversations we had with the people that did show up were good. The next mixer will be in our office and we will invite a larger cross section of referral sources. Lesson learned for now.

Happy

January 30,2036,Friday morning, 2:55am, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Went to EOS this morning to walk on the treadmill and do back exercises. I am going to have a chocolate builder bar then go back to bed. My internal dialogue has evolved. Using the 10,000 bricks tool my voice is powerful and confident. Checking in every hour and being mindful of my mindset has given me peace and control unlike ever before. I am the happiest I have ever been and look forward to every day.

Thursday

January 29,2026,Thursday morning,2:47am, pacific standard time, in Dana Point,,USA. Woke up a little later this morning. I didn’t PCH route without the Green Lantern spur. It was a pretty good distance and saved me time by not having to drive anywhere. Yesterday at work I did a presentation with the marketers at a managed care provider in Orange. Things went well. They have more of a presence in San Diego County so that should help their branch as well. After work I took my daughter to music, talked to mom on the phone, and picked up a burger at In & Out. now I am resting, eating a mint builder bar and watching the weather. I will wait to have coffee when I am driving to the office.

Time commitment

January 28,2026,Wednesday morning,2:30am,pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. I timed myself from get out of bed to finish working out. it took one hour and thirty minutes. They included getting ready, driving, doing the Blue Lantern route, driving home, and exercising with weights. Now I that I know the exact time commitment I can plan my sleep accordingly. though I know getting up between one and one thirty is the sweet spot for not feeling rushed, it isn’t always easy to get out of bed at that time.

Time and distance

January 27,2026, Tuesday morning,2:44am, pacific standard time, in Dana Point, California, USA. I did the blue lantern walk this morning and now am watching the weather and sipping coffee. I still haven’t quite figured out the best way to approach the two hour/7+ mile run/walk each day. Physically, I can do that much distance and I feel better with that level of effort. However, committing to a two hour block everyday is a hard psychological barrier to cross. For now I will take it day by day. I had a good walk this morning and enjoyed the time/distance. That is enough for today.

Extra rest

January 26,2026,Monday morning, 5:39am, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. I slept in this morning. Not sure why. I didn’t stay up particularly late or feel overly tired. sleep just felt good. I decided to listen to my body and rest as long as possible. I did take the dog for a walk yesterday afternoon and also stopped by planet fitness to walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes. Maybe that took more energy than anticipated. I don’t mind. It felt good to get extra sleep and prepare for the coming week.

Sunday

January 25,2026,Sunday morning,7:01am, pacific standard time, in Dana Point, California, USA. Yesterday I met an old friend at the Waldorf Astoria in Dana Point. I literally drive by the resort every day but have never visited. We had drinks (I had an Americano) at the beach club down by the ocean. It was fun to see what a high end resort looks like. I hadn’t seen my friend in three years. Her and her husband bought a house in Rancho Mirage so now they are closer. They came to Dana Point for a work meeting and the host graciously allowed me to come and spend time with them. Afterwards I picked my daughter up to drive around and grab dinner at the Buffalo Wild Wings in lake forest. This morning I slept in until 5am then did the Pacific Island walk. Now I am doing laundry and sipping coffee.
