October 4,2035,Saturday afternoon,12:02pm, mountain standard time, Salt Lake City International AirPort, Salt Lake City,,USA. I woke up at five thirty this morning and took a walk. The temperature was chilly but nothing harsh. After the walk I grabbed coffee at Maverik and came back to the condo to get ready for the day. At 8am the sky turned dark and it began to hail. I decided to leave early for the airport with the hope the weather would be clear down the hill. Unfortunately, it has been rainy and overcast so far but no problem. My flight isn’t until three. I am hanging out at the airport. Flying on Saturday is so much easier. Security, the gates and shops are all pretty quiet. I am enjoying a second Americano and reading articles on my phone.

October 3,2025,Friday night,7:52pm,mountain standard time,mom’s condo in Evanston,Wyoming,USA. I woke up around six this morning and did the Broken Circle walk. It was a little cold at the end but nothing extreme. Afterwards I worked out at the clubhouse and got coffee. Mom was up when I came back so we went over the financial plan, got ready, and headed out. First, to the credit union in town and after that the one in Bountiful, Utah. We took it easy the rest of the afternoon then got pizza for dinner followed by ice cream while watching Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. Now it is raining and cold. Yesterday might have been the nicest weather they will have out here for some time.

October 2,2025,Thursday night, 8:49pm,mountain standard time,mom’s condominium in Evanston,Wyoming,USA. Flew out of Long Beach this afternoon and arrived in Utah around 4pm. Got the rental car and drove to Wyoming through Weber canyon. I arrived shortly before 8pm. Mom and I have been discussing finances. Tomorrow we will take care of the things we talked about. I brought up the idea of her moving to California. I offered to give her the place I currently live in and would figure out living arrangements with my daughter and her mom. I don’t know if she is up for that but not moving her makes me nervous. Mom had a fall last week that resulted in two nasty cuts on her hand and a fair number of stitches. If she stays in Wyoming I can’t help her in situations like that. I am pretty unnerved seeing how bad the wound is. Knowing how these things go eventually she will fall and fracture a bone. That will change everything.

October 1,2025,Wednesday night,7:22pm,pacific standard time,apartment in Dana Point,,USA. It doesn’t sound like filling the Vice President role at work is a priority at the moment. I guess I need to live with ambiguity a little longer. That is alright, I can work on personal growth that doesn’t involve a job. It is possible to evolve while being safely rooted in one place. This job meets my needs and I am good at it. I will excel where I am planted while seeking other opportunities for accomplishment.

September 30,2025,Tuesday afternoon,12:09pm,pacific standard time,office in Costa Mesa, California,USA. I went to sleep at 3:30pm yesterday and woke up at 6:30am. I don’t have the headache any more. Now starting to return to baseline. Getting caught up at work and re-acclimating after leaving early Friday and taking yesterday off. On a side note, financials came out. Our branch is looking strong. This is the best performance I have ever had at a location. I am proud of what we have accomplished.

September 28,2025,Sunday night/Monday morning, 2:02am, universal Hilton, universal city, California, my daughter and I just finished spending the night at Halloween Horror nights at Universal Studios. we decided to stay in the area instead of driving back late. I am glad we did. It is nice to walk to the hotel and crawl into bed. The evening was fun. I am still feeling run down but managed to make it all the way through. We rode all the rides, walked all the mazes and saw all the shows. In the end a very an efficient and fruitful endeavor.

September 27,2025,Saturday night,6:17pm,pacific standard time,apartment in Dana Point,,USA. I have felt under the weather all day. I woke up at 5:30an then went back to sleep until 8:30am. After that I set up my new iPhone and went to the gym . I walked on the treadmill but was too tired to lift. I came home, took ibuprofen, ate half a protein bar then went back to sleep until work woke me up at 2:30pm. Then I took some DayQuil and have hung out at home since. Lots of people walking on the path outside my door, going to the Ohana festival at Doheny State Beach. That makes the day feel festive and alive. I am feeling a little better physically but will probably turn in early. Staying up late and eating a lot for dinner last night threw my system off. I need to get some more rest to regroup for Halloween Horror nights tomorrow.

September 26,2025,Friday night, 10:35pm,pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. We went to Pasadena to celebrate my brother in law’s 70th birthday and enjoy the seafood buffet at the cal tech Anthenaeum. it is always fun to see family and enjoy good food in a unique atmosphere. I don’t know the exact price but I am sure it isn’t cheap. I am grateful every time we get to go there.

September 25,2025,Thursday night,7:52pm,pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA. Talked with my daughter and her mom about life, jobs and living situations. My daughter’s mom is taking a job in San Bernardino County next month. She is working hybrid so doesn’t have to move out of the area but a cut in pay means finding a new place to live. That being the case the conversation veered to my daughter and the dog living with me. That idea makes me happy. It isn’t until next year and there are a lot of logistics to figure out but I am going to hope for a little while that it happens. Especially, ironically, because it was five years ago today they moved out of our old apartment off of Santa Clara Street and we haven’t lived full time together since.

September 24,2025,Wednesday evening, 6:17,pacific standard time,parking lot,school of rock, San Juan Capistrano,California, USA. I did an in service today at an assisted living in Anaheim. The topic was care for the caregiver. It seemed to be well received. The place we did the in service at is a national company. It is the same company I worked for when I lived in Phoenix. Today is also a milestone anniversary of a successful accreditation survey in Phoenix. Those two coincidences brought back good memories. I need to plan my Phoenix trip soon. It has been almost a year since I have been there. On another note, my new phone arrived. I am eager to set it up. The one I am using now can’t update the operating system and half the apps I need don’t work.
