3:16pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA, Sunday afternoon, October 9, 2022. Left Chandler at 5am this morning and got to Dana Point just before 11:30am. The drive was alright but I have been sad realizing next month I will not come to Dana Point any more. That is going to be hard. So much will be different in the next couple of weeks.

I won’t look back fondly
6:43pm, pacific standard time, hotel in Dublin, California, USA, Wednesday night, October 5, 2022. It is the two year anniversary of restarting my career in hospice operations. That position was not very good, and the company was garbage but, the job got me where I am today, so I am thankful. Often, when I look back, I realize painful things lead to happier moments. Which happens to be the case now. And while I appreciate the job I started two years ago, I won’t look back on it fondly any time soon.
Good day
5:56pm, pacific standard time, hotel in Dublin, California, USA, Tuesday evening, October 4, 2022. I had a good day. First, the big meeting between our nurses and the new pharmacy went smooth this morning. Then, I got a handle on a vexing overtime issue that was keeping me up at night. Finally, I am feeling physically better and getting my appetite back. All in all, it was a pretty good day.
Dublin, California, October 3
5:07pm, pacific standard time, hotel in Dublin, California, USA, Monday evening, October, 3, 2022. Woke up feeling well enough to go for a walk and do a light workout this morning. In fact, I got up so early I still had time to read the news and pack before morning meetings. I left the apartment at 9:30am and drove to the airport. After catching an afternoon flight to Oakland I got to the hotel at 3:30pm. I just finished responding to emails and phone calls. Dinner is on its way, then time for an early turn in.
I am feeling better
4:55pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Chandler, Arizona, USA, Sunday afternoon, October 2, 2022. It was one more day of rest and football today. Thankfully, I am feeling better and have a direct flight to Oakland. I will sleep in tomorrow, do my morning meetings, then travel to California for a busy week.
Sleep and recuperate
2:14pm, pacific standard time, Sacramento, California, USA airport. Thursday afternoon, September 29, 2022. Last night I started feeling under the weather. Rather than go to the office this morning I worked from the hotel, then drove to the Sacramento airport. My flight to San Diego boards soon, then I connect to Phoenix. I should be in my apartment by 8:30pm. I need to sleep the entire weekend and recuperate.
I wonder if he would be proud?
6:46pm, pacific standard time, hotel in Dublin, California, USA, Wednesday evening, September 28, 2022. Notable things from today; I spent time at the office in Dublin catching up on reports. I came back to the hotel this evening and enjoyed a quiet dinner and I had a good workout this morning. On a personal note; I have been thinking about my dad the last couple of days. It will be sixteen years next month since he passed away. I wonder if he would be proud of who I have become?
Things have settled down
5:58pm, pacific standard time, hotel in Dublin, California, USA, Tuesday evening, September 27, 2022. I woke up early this morning after a restless nights sleep. Work issues kept me awake and stressed. I went to the gym and had a good workout before heading to the office at 7:30am. Things seemed to have settled down by the afternoon. Tomorrow is my last full day in Dublin before heading back to Arizona for the weekend.
Recuperating
3:50pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA, Saturday afternoon, September 24, 2022. We got back to the apartment at 2:30am yesterday and were asleep by 3am. The dog and I got up at 7am to move the car and grab some coffee. I managed to take a nap this afternoon, but still feel tired. I am going to spend the rest of the day recuperating and reading while my daughter plays video games in her room.
Quick nap
4:04pm, pacific standard time, apartment in Dana Point, California, USA, Friday afternoon, September, 23, 2022. Going to the amusement park for an early Halloween celebration this evening. We won’t be home until late. I flew in from the Bay Area this afternoon after working at the hotel this morning. I am going to take a quick nap before we head out at 5:30pm.
